It is an honor for me to serve as the Secretary General of the AJCE Model United Nations. As such, it gives me greater satisfaction to welcome all of you to the conference.

The main objective behind the initiation of the AJCEMUN is to provide a platform for students to be part of an experience that not many students are always fortunate to be a part of.

AJCEMUN 2018 is an ambitious project developed by young, creative and ingenious students from Amal Jyothi Collage .Thus, the aim of such a conference is promoting the Model United Nations’ message and principles, as well as bringing the students closer to knowing what’s happening in the world at the moment, through coming up and debating upon solutions that would maintain international peace and defend equality among individuals

Our organizing team is working very hard to create an incredible experience for all of you and we cannot wait to show you what AJCEMUN has in store, as we hope it will exceed all your expectations. We couldn’t be more excited to host you in March and we look forward to meeting each one of you at AJCEMUN 2018!

The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is a United Nations System inter-governmental body responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the world. Its 47 seats are filled by member states elected for three-year terms.

The UNHRC addresses human rights-related situations in all UN member states. The UNHRC also addresses important thematic human rights issues such as freedom of association and assembly, freedom of expression, freedom of belief and religion, women's rights, LGBT rights, and the rights of racial and ethnic minorities.

The UNHRC can decide at any time to hold a special session to address human rights violations and emergencies, at the request of one-third of the member states.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. A functional commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), it was established by Council resolution 11(II) of 21 June 1946.

The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women. Forty-five Member States of the United Nations serve as members of the Commission at any one time. The Commission consists of one representative from each of the 45 Member States elected by the Economic and Social Council on the basis of equitable geographical distribution. Members are elected for a period of four years.

The United Nations Environment Programme is an agency of United Nations and coordinates its environmental activities, assisting developing countries in implementing environmentally sound policies and practices.

UN Environment has aided in the formulation of guidelines and treaties on issues such as the international trade in potentially harmful chemicals, transboundary air pollution, and contamination of international waterways. Relevant documents, including scientific papers, are available via the UNEP Document Repository. UN Environment has also been active in funding and implementing environment related development projects.
